We are trying to take a backpacking trip every fall. This year we went to Zealand in the White Mountains of NH and hiked Mt Wiley and Mt Field. I should start by saying that we the trails that we took were a last minute decision so we didn't realize that there were 2 peaks of over 4000 ft each. We also don't know exactly how many miles we hiked. We think it was in the ballpark of 17.
The first night we camped just off of the trail head next to a stream.
There were gorgeous views along every turn.
Some parts were so steep that we had to take ladders...
We camped on the top of Mt Field for the second night.
We were so high in elevation that most of the trees were bare.
Ethan fished when he had a chance.
