5 Months Old!!!

I can't believe that my sweet baby is 5 months old already. Time has gone by so quickly. It really is true what they say, you have to appreciate all of the cute things that she is doing at the time because before you know it she has moved on to something new. Thankfully this is also true for the not so cute things. I don't miss the sleepless nights and I can't wait for her to stop growling. (It is alittle on the creep side.)

Making up for lost time

Hopefully this will appease the masses. Due to many demands from family members, here are some pictures we have taken in the past few months. Adella has learned some new tricks this past month including rolling over (see above). She is just as cute as ever (in my eyes) and is growing quickly.

This is one of Adella's prefered ways of travel

Loving the hotel life

A Merry Merry Christmas to you and yours! Note our pitiful Christmas tree. We needed something portable so we could bring it back and forth. I even decorated our hotel room so we could enjoy the holiday season while we were away. The things I would do to keep my sanity! :)

A light at the end of the tunnel

I have been out of comunication for a few months now due to the inconviences of living in a hotel for the last 4 months. I am happy to report however that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!! We should be moving into our new house at the end of the month. YEA!!

Adella's special day

All of Ethan's family came for Adella's blessing (Sunday November 4th). I didn't realize it until his mom mentioned it but everyone was there. I am thankful that we get to see them so often and that they are so supportive.

My parents came to town too. I have loved spending time with them. Dad had business in Syracuse (what a coincidence!) so we spent a couple of days there with Ethan. Having my mom has been a huge help. Trying to get the house ready to show/sell has been really overwhelming. She has been great! She is up for anything. She even cleaned my bathroom!

Happy Halloween!!!

I know, I know it is alittle late for the Halloween blog but I have been busy!! Adella was so excited for Halloween that she dressed like a pumpkin for the couple of days before and for some after Halloween too! (Aunt Inger and Uncle Travis provided this adorable outfit. Grandma Cindy gave her the cute pumpkin hat)

Adella loves to take a bath!

Adella is finally taking a real bath. She liked it right away. I guess the warm water is soothing. She is taking to a feeding/sleeping schedule for the most part. I have to pull a few tricks however, such as giving her a bath to prolong her wake/play time in the late evening. I would love to see her sleep less in the afternoon and more through the night but I guess this will come with time.

We are adjusting to life well. I have always respected motherhood but I have a new found respect for it now! Being a mom really does mean being a jack of all trades. (I am sure that I will continue to realize this and comment on this theme for many months to come.) I am getting used to not sleeping more than 2 hours at a time and to only speaking with an infant and dog all day long. Both are adorable and great listeners however, neither of which are good conversationalists! (I have never liked the sound of my own voice but I am really sick of it now!) I have also realized that I don't know ALL of the words to any songs! I start to sing a song to Adella to calm her or while I am changing her and inevitably it ends with me humming or trailing off because I can't remember how the rest of the song goes. (even my favorite ones!) I guess I will have to work on that or just spare her and stop all together.

2 weeks have come and gone so quickly! Life is starting to get back to "normal" (what ever that is!) We are feeling good and trying to get out of the house every day. I don't know how mothers with more than one child do it. I have a new respect for my mother. I don't know how she got all six of us out of the house and to church on time every Sunday. I couldn't even get me and Adella to a Dr's appointment on time this morning! Babies require so much extra stuff! Not to mention that I had to change her clothing twice do to a spit up incident. Adella is feeding and sleeping regularly. We are working on getting her on a schedule so that she will sleep through the night. Right now she likes to sleep in the late afternoon and play in the early morning! The pediatrician reports that she is healthy and growing. She weighs 7lbs 10 oz as of today.
